BG Build are a reputable building company based in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, specialising in renovations, new builds, and project management services.
Ben & Christina are the owners of BG Build. Ben, originally from Auckland and now a Tauranga local since 2004, brings over 15 years of expertise in the construction industry. His experience ranges from residential builds to large-scale commercial projects, renovations, re-clads, office fit-outs, relocatables, land subdivisions, and retirement villages. With qualifications in Carpentry, Construction Management, and Quantity Surveying, Ben and his team ensure every project meets high standards and is executed efficiently.

Ben Gourley
Director - Project Manager - Qualified Builder
With more than 15 years in the building industry, Ben's got quite the toolkit! He's tackled everything from brand-new homes and community buildings to subdivisions, relocatables, renovations, and even a retirement village. He is a Qualified Builder and has Diplomas in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. When he's not busy building, he will be spending time with his wife and two young children and out on his mountain bike.

Connor Oakley
Qualified Builder & Project Manager
Our ultimate multitasking maestro! He's not only a skilled builder who excels in the construction world but also brings scaffolding expertise and project management experience to the table. At BG Build, he's been leading projects, including the renovation of heating systems in schools across New Zealand. When he’s not calling the shots or wielding his tools, Connor enjoys spending time with his daughter and spearfishing.

Qualified Builder
A qualified builder, where building is quite literally in his blood. He brings unmatched skill and a friendly vibe to every project at BG Build. When he’s not busy creating construction masterpieces, you’ll find him embracing the great outdoors. Whether he’s fishing, mountain biking or dirt biking, Will’s living life to the fullest! As our longest-standing team member, Will is truly the heart and soul of BG Build. We appreciate everything he does – he’s a bloody good builder and an even better brother & mate!

Site Manager & Qualified Builder
Our most experienced builder and site manager! He's not just great at problem-solving—he's practically a magician with a hammer. David brings a laid-back vibe to the BG Build Crew, keeping things chill and running smoothly on-site. Outside of work, you'll find him enjoying life near the beach in Papamoa with his wife, their furry companions, and their 2-year-old daughter. He's all about family time, staying active, tackling personal building projects, and soaking up the great outdoors.

Third Year Apprentice Builder
Third year into his apprenticeship and he’s already slinging hammers like a pro, all while brining those good vibes and killer energy to the team. When he’s not crafting masterpieces on site, you’ll catch Davis out in the wild, chasing down his next big adventure on those hunting weekends. Davis isn’t just a team player, he’s a total legend.

Administrator
A former school teacher with an eye for detail, Christina now keeps the BG Build office running smoothly alongside Ben. She’s found that managing tradies isn’t all that different from managing a classroom. Christina and Ben share a love for all things property and are always knee-deep in their own projects, from relocatables and subdivisions to renovations and new builds.
